Fried Avocado

A delicious appetizer for the ultimate #AvocadoLovers! ? Enjoy this tasteful and easy recipe with a touch of Abuela Conchita’s signature cilantro dipping sauce to transform this fried fruit, into a delightful signature dish!


Ingredients  

1 egg
2 ripe avocados 
1 tbsp. garlic, minced
½ tbsp garlic salt
½ tbsp. pepper
½ tbsp. Conchita Sazón
¼ tbsp. red pepper flakes 
3 tbsp. fresh cilantro, finely chopped
½ cup mayonnaise 
¼ cup milk 
½ cup Conchita Lemon Blend
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups Conchita Vegetable Oil 

 

 

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice the avocados into long, thin pieces
  2. In a bowl, stir together the all-purpose flour, red pepper flakes, Conchita Sazón and garlic salt. In a separate bowl, whisk the milk and egg. 
  3. Add 2 tbsp. of the milk mixture into the all-purpose flour and stir them together until flour becomes crumbly and coarse. Add the remaining milk mixture over the avocados.
  4. Heat the Conchita Vegetable Oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Dip the avocados into the flour mixture, making sure they are fully coated.
  5. Carefully drop the avocado slices into the hot oil and fry until golden brown. Remove from oil and let excess oil drip onto a paper towel. 

Cilantro Dip
In blender, mix mayonnaise, garlic, pepper, Conchita Lemon Blend and cilantro.
